If you're wondering how busy Wilson County was before Election Day, 36,631 ballots were cast during early voting, according to the Wilson County Election Commission. With 114,636 registered voters, that's turnout of approximately 32%.

  • Rank: third statewide in estimated turnout through the 14-day period
  • Versus 2018: about 2.6% higher; versus 2022: nearly 52% higher
  • Election Day: 18 vote centers, open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Locations and sample ballots: WilsonTNVotes.gov

The county recorded more early and absentee votes than in either year, but Administrator of Elections Tammy Smith said population growth explains much of the jump. Wilson County had about 84,000 registered voters in 2018. It now has more than 115,000.

“We have a lot of people that have moved in, and there just seems to be an energy; they're energized to vote.”
